Sponsored Travel Grants
The AGW Travel Grants are designed to provide the opportunity for scientists and nurses in the early stage of their career to broaden their education and experience in the field of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, especially in areas of research relevant to the field, through attendance at Australian Gastroenterology Week (AGW).
Description:
- Grants will be between AUD$700 – $1,000 each. The total amount cannot be increased under any circumstances.
- Grants are fully sponsored and are administered by the Gastroenterological Society of Australia.
- The Grant can only be used to fund attendance at AGW in the current year and is not transferable.
- Preference will be given to applicants who have not been awarded a grant previously.
- Funds will be available following the completion of AGW and on submission of proof of attendance and a 200 word statement on one of the topics covered in the AGW program.
This statement may be published in the Newsletter of the relevant Society.
- Grants must be claimed within one month of the completion of AGW.
- The Grant funds are not to replace any existing funds, which have been allocated from another source.
- All applications must be on the official application form. (Facsimile submissions will not be accepted).
- All applicants will be notified in writing of the result of their application during the first week in September 2007.
Criteria:
- Applicants must be full-time Researchers/Scientists or nurses in the broad field of gastroenterology or hepatology and a financial member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) or the Gastroenterological Nurses College of Australia (GENCA) at the time of applying.
- Applicants must have submitted an Abstract for AGW.
- Applicants must include a short statement on which topics being presented at AGW are of interest to them (see program outline on website agw2007.com)
- The closing date for applications is the 31 August 2007.
